It's horrible, but you must see it. You must remember it forever.' Zosha accentuated each word. She pulled me by the hand. Some of our girls were already standing on the road. They were pale and rigid, their eyes were turned in the direction of the nearest crematory.

Kolejne wydanie książki Krystyny Żywulskiej, opowiadającej o jej przeżyciach w obozie Auschwitz. Autorka urodziła się w 1914 roku jako Sonia Landau. W czasie okupacji, w 1941 roku, wraz z rodziną została przesiedlona do warszawskiego getta. Po ucieczce z getta, jako Polka zatrzymana po aryjskiej stronie w Warszawie za pomoc Żydom i dezerterowi niemieckiemu, była przesłuchiwana na Szucha. Udało jej się ukryć pochodzenie. Jednak została wysłana do Auschwitz.
