One cannot describe life day by day.
Only images of specific events remain in our memory,
faithfully recorded in our subconscious indefinitely.
At any time, they can be recalled in color, complete with smells
and emotional tension—despite everything, they never fade away.
The same is true of my time at the Auschwitz camp.
I left it over sixty years ago, but mentally I am still there,
and the experiences continue to affect my current life.
